In THE SALT FOR GROUNDING #2 simple actions are made audible. The
necessary media (from microphone to loudspeaker) are used in such a way
as to generate the performance in a reflective way.
Production
THE SALT FOR GROUNDING #2 is an alchemistic laboratory where some
elementary physical-chemical processes take place. These processes have
their own particular kinds of sounds. There is also a series of
experiments which process sound events. These working processes are
realized during the performance.
Record
A second level establishes a system with an endless tape-loop through
two tape recorders, one in record mode and one in playback. This
tape-loop system simultaneously records the sound processes and
transforms them into a permanent ongoing state.
Public Address / Composition
The laboratory and the recording system both work continuously at a very
low volume level. At the performance, single sound events are shifted in
a live mix on a P.A. system. This soundmix is audible as the "acoustic
quintessence" of the piece.
